What Your Laptop Stickers Really Say About You
An important guide to coder-fashion
Many a guide has been written about how to learn coding, how to survive as a junior developer and how to progress into senior developer territory — but no one ever talks about the single-most crucial piece of IT office attire. A suit doesn’t make the man, his stickers do.
The Monk
Where are your stickers??
You need no stickers, your laptop is a physical extension to your zen-like state of mind. Script kiddies think you have to be the most boring person in the world, you don’t even have the obligatory eat-sleep-code-repeat sticker.
Real coders are in awe of your dedication to the craft that leaves no room for shenanigans. You walk the office floors with purposeful steps, your code is already written inside your head by the time your fingers touch the keyboard and your coffee always turns cold next to you while you craft fine pieces of thoughtful code.
The single-minded
There’s a single sticker on your notebook, quite likely a minimalistic or cute one. A little teddy that looks like it just bit off the missing part of the apple, a single dedication to a political cause no one can take offence at.
It says that you have your life under control, that you have a grip on yourself but also aren’t afraid to show others a little glimpse behind the curtain. Your single sticker says a lot about you simply by being the one — if it won out against all those other choices it has to have meaning, right?
The bomber
Whoever sits opposite you in meetings will not listen to a single word that’s being said — they are too busy trying to figure out what’s on…
